Will be doing a photo shoot later in the week, and a more detailed review of the 145.016 Soccer Timer to come, but this watch has a great feel, awesome size and bracelet fit. This is a chronograph Dennis would love.

Thanks Ron! Can't wait to see the dress watch you pick up

BTW this one looks really cool on orange, tried it on my orange Planet Ocean croc strap and deployant too. The bracelet is really nice though, Mike's right about one owner watches that have been maintained well!

We might have to have an international exchange program like with students. I've always wanted to try one of them, be it a Soccer timer of one of the blue or black dialed Seamaster 861's in the ss C-case. I'll go out on a limb and say there's probably a watch or two you wouldn't mind giving a whirl from my box too so after the newness rubs off that we should chat. ;)

Well I'm rather keen to get as many interesting watches for proper reviews like the SMPP review, there are plenty of modern watch reviews, but vintage ones, particularly less common references are really cool to have. Chuck Maddox used to do them but since his passing its something missing, so I'm all for it.

Are you going to take up refereeing our beautiful game? :)

Well my nephew used to play it but recently switched to Rugby so I'm not sure what I'll use it for in that respect, but thankfully it still works as a normal (non-soccer) chronograph as well, so I can time all the important things, like this afternoon I used it to time when my ricotta and spinach pastries needed to come out of the oven, and in typical Omega fashion, they were crisp, golden brown and delicious, thanks to the Seamaster Soccer Timer.

That said, when I cook with the Speedmaster Pro, things do taste a bit better, but I'm thinking its because its a column wheel, and that adds to the flavour

There is black leather Omega do that looks really nice on these - thinking of getting one for my 145.020. The Ofrei ref is Omega Watch Strap 032VEST2216N: http://www.ofrei.com/page1260.html#20383

I've got a black and brown 20mm that fit it, I actually go for the deployant versions though as the Omega OEM deployant clasp is brilliant (so much better than the tang buckle) not sure if you've tried it but its worth looking into

Well, I'm saying Rugby is more important ;)

and sailing, I sailed through primary school and highschool competitively, its a far more violent sport than it seems, especially teams racing. :coffee:

Funnily enough I sail dinghies, agree it can be very 'dirty' racing. Also massive Stoke City fan and love watching Aussie rules.
Also forgot to say love the watch.

It just doesn't feel right to me to put a deployant on these 70's watches. Guess I'm just a bit old fashioned like that :p

Real men don't flop like flounders either. I've seen too much of that in international soccer for my taste.

Can't argue too much with the Aussies. Rugby and their brand of football is tough stuff. What's up with those Bermuda shorts on the referees, though?
