Just was it on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-GENU...817434?hash=item216749e79a:g:uDAAAOSwiX1d7n5FPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network For sure it was loved and worn, a lot! Bezel insert looks like "ghost", this is probably first time when I see 2254 insert like that. What is happening with a lume? It is coming out from 12 and 1 o'clock markers. Have you ever seen Superluminova aged like that?
Yes, I've seen cracks like that before - not as bad as these are though... That watch has had a rough life.
Me too. She was not box-safe-queen, more likely she was used as a tool dive watch, who got a lot of sunbathing and probably has other exiting stories to tell. I like this watch.
Great character shines through on this. If only it could speak. I bet with a service it works like a champ!!!
If I owned this watch, I’d be proud of the damage as part of our life together. But buying it from a stranger? It’s damage and that eBay BIN price is too much. Notice no movement shots AND the date is mid-way between switching over at 10 o’clock.
Whatever the stories all I see is a tatty old watch. I’ll take a NOS looking one any day of the week, thank you.
Not unless you have psychometric abilities. And if you do, I'd keep quiet about it unless you want a visit from men in black suits and sunglasses and a very long holiday in a secret government facility
There was a dial on eBay which looked the same - same damage to the lume at 12. I wonder if the seller used that dial to make a 2254? Apparently the seller of the dial dropped the watch and replaced the dial and then sold the damaged dial on. Unfortunately I don’t have photos but the damage to the lume looks the same.
Love it, have a Seiko that was just as pretty before it was ruined by a refresh a few years ago. Before (Dial before picture) Lume shot Bezel at service New dial and re-lumed Currently working on ageing my Speedmaster the same way by wearing the hell out of it
No offense to those who like the beat up look, but y'all remind me of these folks who pay a premium for jeans (and other clothing items) that have been torn and tattered before leaving the manufacturer.
Just because i like the look, doesnt mean i would pay premium price for it, just about the opposite actually. But i would not mind if my own watch would age in a simmilar way. Just like the jeans you've mentioned! My jeans allways looked pretty well aged because i wore them for skateboarding, never would i pay premium for toren up jeans.
Better than the 4x4 that has never left the road type of city slicker that wears farming brand name clothes to be trendy. ( I live in the Northern Territory Aus and spend most work and weekend in remote parts of the country. The only long sleeve cuff I have are on fishing shirts that I cut a hole in so my thumb goes in to cover my hands. Going out flip flops are allowed everywhere I go )
I would beg to differ on this. The difference being that this is not likely to be a contrived look unlike a pair of premium jeans with built in wear....
I for one quite like it, and if blue and a sensible price would buy and wear as my auto watch that I don't mind getnig beat up even more. Now to look on eBay and Chrono24
