My neighbor, whom I shall call "Steve", buys old furniture, strips it, and then refinishes it. Sometimes the dressers are full and sometimes they are empty. In his latest one when he pulled out the drawers, this fell out:

Appears to be a Cal. 565 166.0041 I'm guessing, although I do not have a proper tool to remove the back. The crown is a replacement, and doesn't engage to wind the watch correctly, but the seconds hand moves with just a few shakes, so guessing that is a stem issue. There is a bit of damage to the edge of the dial between 11 and 12, and also at 9. Someone added tiny and subtle dots of tritium to the ends of the indices which doesn't really detract from it. Guessing this is the case since there are no "T"s around Swiss Made. The crystal is aftermarket and in desperate need of being replaced too.

With all the stuff he buys, he's never come across a decent watch before - this is the first. He has a standing deal with me that if I list stuff online to sell through ebay, he splits the profit 50/50 which is quite generous. In this case though I'd rather just have the watch myself. I've been looking at stuff trying to determine what is a fair price for it, considering the dial damage, service needs, new crown needed, etc. and figured I'd turn here to see what you all say.

If you’re paying him cash, no hassle, I’d say £275.

If you list it on eBay I’d think it’d go £250-350 then there’s fees, postage, potential arse hole buyers etc.
