So considering a Milgauss, what alternative??

Didn't the Inge get knocked for having a Sellita movement (iirc that it's a ETA KNOCKOFF).
That's exactly why I added "looks wise" to my initial post. I thought it was an ETA 2892 by the way?

Either way it makes these new Ingy's much easier to service for an independent watch maker . 馃榾

OK...There comes a time (once again) where we need to stipulate in no uncertain terms...THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES.

I just finished TRYING to read a WATCHTIME article (republished from 2014 ...but UPDATED... as they have nothing new to publish) and they just cannot get it right and cannot get over the ridiculous spanking the Milgauss has gotten by Omega. Rolex is not in the Big Leagues and is a pretender. They must pay WATCHTIME because the UPDATED article Written by Jens Koch, August 8, 2016 , STILL says:

" (Interestingly, it is one of Rolex鈥檚 main competitors, Omega, that recently upped the ante on magnetism-resistant watches with the 2013 introduction of its Seamaster >1,500 Gauss, which uses even more antimagnetic materials in its movement; click here for more on that watch.)"

OFF BY A FACTOR OF 10! Not 5% off. Not 12% off. Not even 50% wrong! 1,500 X 10 = 15,000 the correct figure.
(AND REALLY...they probably don't have the testing equipment to find out what GREATER THAN ">" means!)

Rolex is feeble and pitiful. TRULY pitiful. To have WATCHTIME seemingly front for them to downplay their humiliation is even worse. If they were honorable, they would demand WATCHTIME correct this intentional error. If you don't believe it is intentional...the "CLICK HERE" to get to the Omega story Immediately announces in HUGE bold print:
Omega Unveils Seamaster 15,000 Gauss, the World鈥檚 Most Antimagnetic Watch.

Taking the Gauss out of the decision making for a moment, the Milgauss is a very aesthetically pleasing and to me a great watch. I still want one.

I would love an original but I'm not prepared to sell a kidney as well
You're more than welcome to keep your kidneys, there are always deals to be made beyond bodily organs.

As luck would have it I've had a mint condition 1019 Milgauss with CERN dial just become available as its previous owner... has no further use for it.

Here's my clear glass black dial - an unpopular and quickly discontinued model, but I love it :

I don't know anything about watches, but history shows that the unpopular models are the ones that have a potential for being the most expensive ones in the future. If I was looking for a Milgauss and I couldn't afford the 1019 or 6541, I'd look for the black one like yours.

One of my dream watches is the Green Crystal / Black Dial Milgauss. It was the first Rolex that I wanted after looking at the entire current collection at the time.

I would recommend the new Caliber Master Co-axial from Omega, it way more advance then Milgauss and Magnetism proof to 15,000 GAUSS.

I would go with the Aqua Terra or Seamaster 300M
=)
If you're going for the Milgauss due to the anti-magnetic aspect then +1 on AT Master Co-Axial or 300MCA. If it's on looks alone and the Milgauss sings to you... go with what your heart desires =)
