I have a buddy who picked up one of those Kimbers awhile back, nice little gun.
Shot one a couple of weeks ago and then had to have one. Always carried a Glock until now...

While I liked the little Kimber I still prefer my Colt New Agent. It's a little bigger so it grips a little better and points better. Now if only it had real sights...

Good looking gun! Kimber is easy to conceal.

Thanks, that's true the Kimber is a little more concealable but I prefer the size of the Colt.

Hi Trev, you arrived about the same time as I have, hunt mostly and also use 338WM but my 6,5x55 Remington is perfect for Australia. Just a heads up... this time of year Winchester Australia is looking at taking orders for some Shot Show specials. I have my name down for a 357 mag Winchester Take down trapper, colour case hardened, which is a rare item and limited to 10 arriving on our shores. Should you be interested talk to your local dealer to put your name down.

Not to be outdone here in the UK, went in the loft and dug out my piece! The old G4 Diana 177 air pistol from my youth. From close range she would go straight through a coke can! (Empty).

On a more interesting note, also found my 30mm dummy shell from a GAU8-A gatlin from the old A10 Thunderbolt. Now that could go through a coke can!

My grandson and I went shooting today, the little guy likes shooting this ar. When we arrived at my home I swapped out the upper receiver with a slick side receiver "no forward assist" and bedded the barrel to receiver fit with retaining compound Next week back to the range to find out if the receiver swap will improve accuracy My grandson had a good time shooting and helping with the receiver swap.

Ok, I’ll bite:

Full custom 1911 .45 by master (and now retired) pistolsmith, Larry Leutenegger.

Caspian frame/slide fit-lapped, at 0.002” tolerance.
Kart barrel/bbl bushing, link, pin, match fit. Greider speed trigger. Slide mounted slide racker. Frame scope mount for Ultra Dot scope. Beveled magazine well and two tuned magazines. Frame front and rear straps checkered 20 LPI.

Oh, and skateboard griptape handles.

At 50 yards on a ransom, it puts 10 rounds into a 2” group. (I suspect that with a mechanical fixture and some ammo testing, could get to sub-1.5” or better.)

In my single-hand hold, it does considerably worse.

But with a full magazine, I wouldn’t chance being even a football field away from the bang end of this thing

Cordially,

Yea, I like old stuff...
Nice Luger!!!! Assuming it's a WWI because of the wooden bottom on the mag. WW2 Lugers went to an aluminum bottom. I have in my grubby paws an all matching DWM 1916.

thanks, I still haven't taken it to the range, anything special I should look for?
To be honest, I wouldn't shoot it at all. Broken parts are becoming difficult to source. I had a mismatched DWM, reblued ect. Not really a collector pistol. A Lodge Brother really wanted it so I gave it to him at a bargain price. My all matching 1916 doesn't get shot. They're not really all that much fun to shoot anyway, the sights are terrible!!!!

The answer is easy....

#1 if you’re wearing an eye patch.

#2 if you’re wearing a red jersey.

#3 goes with whatever.

Traditionally #3 also goes well with an eye patch...…. Hans to Fritz while on guard duty ''I just noticed we have a death head insignia on the uniform....I hope we are not the bad guys'' :0)

Picked up a Commander size Guncrafter in charcoal blue high polish slide to match my government size. Something about traditional blue for me.

Looks like your P38 may be a commercial model??? I have an all matching AC41. I believe the P38 was the first DA/SA military pistol produced. Well known for a horrendous DA trigger pull. Single action was OK.
