    Hello everyone.
I really like my SMP 300m:
    1119030-55c42c1e3fc63f4f3e6cd1b919fcf4c6.jpg
but I don't like so much the hands.

I really love Planet Ocean's hands, but not so much its thickness.

I was thinking... What if I swap hands?

So, I have processed the following image.

I like it. What do you think?

mio SMP con lancette Planet Ocean 215-63-44-21-03-001.jpg

Now, the real question. Is it technically possible?

The hands come from the ref. 215.63.44.21.03.001

What do you think about it?

To my eyes, it's even better with the CWZ005345 strap: see below.

I could never warm up to either the skeleton hands or the waves. You have definitely solved the first problem. To steal a Mad Dog line: "Take the rest of the day off, with pay sir!"

Loox cool, but there would be less space for PO than, so I am pretty sure will not happen. Nice to see simulations like above anyway :D

A 2254.50 reissue is just what the doctor ordered. Not a bad way to celebrate the SMP anniversary if you ask me.

    You're right ahah! :D

Just to clarify, I was asking the experts* if it was technically feasible, for a good watchmaker, to put those PO hands (or another set of another PO model) on my own SMP dial.

8800 movement in your watch and 8900 movement in the PO. The hands may not actually fit from one movement to the other, but Omega doesn't provide hole sizes to check...can't say for sure, but my gut tells me it's unlikely.

I don't know maybe its just me. I dislike the skeleton hands because of the lack of lume but at the same time I like the look.

Also an SMP is not an SMP without the skeleton hands (anymore). Sorry I was raised in the 90s. I also care less about what once was...

    Thank you very much Archer.

Your point is exactly what I was expecting!!! ;)
So I tried with the hands of the ref. 215.63.40.20.13.001.
These hands are shorter, obviously, but maybe they are best integrated with my SMP dial, because the SMP has a narrower minute counter ring than the one on the PO dial.
This ref. has the 8801 cal., so I suppose that it sports a better fit.

It's easy to improve SMP skeleton hands.
That looks sharp with PO hands. Still He valve and bracelet to solve.

+1 That skeleton hands are sub-par. The only smp that gets away with it for me is the White one, maybe Nekton.

The only correct alternative IMO. It's germane to the model from the beginning more or less. Frankly, I'd choose sword hands over skeleton every time. Lovely non-AC btw.

I don't have a problem with the skeleton hands as I consider them part and parcel of the design; that said I wouldn't want them on a new-model watch. I can see the argument against the He valve on say, a PO, as it seems to be a forced port from the SMP. Really, sans the He valve, anyone complaining about the other features of the SMP (bracelet, hands, waves) should just shhhhhhhh and buy a PO. :coffee:
