Maybe a stupid question, but I just picked up the OE CVZ010126 rubber strap and was wondering if the spring bars from the SS bracelet would work with the new rubber strap?

not really,
as it can be used, but officially:

Spring bar - 068ST2208 (20mm, 1.8mm) - these would be used on straps with 20mm lugs
Spring bar - 068ST2207 (19mm, 1.8mm) - these would be used on bracelets with 20mm lugs or straps with 19mm lugs

I know for a fact the AT 150m with 20mm lugs on the OEM rubber strap comes with the 2207 springbars.

Wow! I have a super basic question on this - Is there an advantage to keep using the Omega spring bars for my 300M? I've had speedy for decades, but I never actually took them off bracelet, so I've never really thought about it.

I'm sorry - I might not have been super clear - should I keep using Omega BRAND springbars versus [ insert random brand here ] 20mm spring bar.

Why not, these aren't expensive so no need to go after market.

I my opinion… get the most robust and thickest spring bars available…. Then put it on a nato

Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately my SMP is still on the SS bracelet, so I can't exactly take photos of the spring bars. However, I watched a few videos of people swapping straps and it seems the OEM spring bars should just slot into the OEM rubber strap. I hope? 😀

The free length of a 068ST2207 springbar which Omega uses on bracelets for a 20mm lug width is 22.428mm. If you use a strap on a 20mm lug Omega recommends a 068ST2208 springbar which has a free length of 23.317mm, so about 0.9mm longer for added security. (Omega uses a slightly shorter springbar on the bracelet because of reduced access to the springbar on a metal bracelet.) You'd probably be ok using the shorter springbar with a strap but I'd feel better with the longer springbar. There was a reason Omega provided the longer spring bars in the previous Speedmaster suitcase when they included NATO straps as an extra.

2x 068ST2208 will arrive in a week and I will change the bracelet on smp 300 for a oem rubber strap from Omega, so I will let you know

Great response. Might just order the longer spring bars then to be safe.

My green SMP 300M in rubber strap came with the shorter 068ST2207 spring bar. I speculate that this might be because the rubber strap fits the watch like a bracelet, unlike a regular leather strap.
