Even though my small watch collection includes watches from serveral manufacturers, Universal Geneve for sure is one of my favorite brands.
Just want to share my five piece collection, I have tried to find some more uncommon and rare watches on the timeline...

Very nice, thx for posting. Have you thought about reluming the hands on the tri compax? A nice warm creamy patina would really highlight the dial and moon phase, IMO.

You're my kind of guy, I only collect Universal Geneve also.

I would kill for that Polarouter.

Neat piece with the Taubert case. Not sure that regulator is a UG. ::confused2:: I have seen an image of the unsigned movement. Do you have any shots of the inside of the case-back?

    Nice Polarouter !

The first watch (is that a 262?) is giving me all kinds of feels. The dial looks like church stained glass. Very pretty.

I see a lot of different versions of these but I believe yours might be the nicest. Did the maker of the case stamp their name or trademark on there anywhere?

Thanks you all for your kind words about my small collection.

@Jonatan Please let my stay alive for a while!! There is no dibs on the Polarouter yet... (even if I think that the watch will stay at least for ever;)...)

@DirtyDozen12 You are right, unsigned movement and case, so no high end UG watch. The watch is a conundrum, but I like the regulator design, so I hold it.

@citizenrich No, it is an very early automatic movement AS 1049 (sorry for blurry pic), as the watch is dated around 1935.

and I couldn´t identify any case stamp inside, just the brevet cross and brit patent number & UG serial.

The number is a Mido serial. Mido had a form of joint venture with Universal Geneve in the years 1934/36.

@vintagechrono I know about the Mido / UG connection, but I´m not sure about your thinking about the serial number. "My" 591XXX Universal serial number just fits perfect for a production in 1935. Your Mido has a 472XXX, so the difference between these two is more than 100.000.
I guess Universal just used their own serial numbers, as the outer caseback is clearly signed UW.

Well, let me be the first to offer a very sincere DIBS in that case.

Forgot to show my last addition, which marks the endpoint on the UG timeline for me.
I didn´t have a tuning fork watch in my collection, and I like the highend movement finish of Universal Geneve Unisonics.
Like the case design and hands. The old strap had to go at first...
