ok.. who bought this? I saw it listed and hesitated cause I think it had the wrong hands and/or caseback. I know very little about the old Seamasters. But it seemed like a good deal nonetheless. It was gone within minutes so figured someone here got it.

Well, those hands are ok on a 165.014, but I do not believe ever correct on a 14755?
The chrono hand also looks replaced. However, if that bezel is the real deal ( and I can't tell from these pics), than this
may have been a good deal for someone.

14755-1 should have reverse or skinny arrow hands, but at that price its below the value of just the parts, plus hands are source-able. So well bought.

    +1

Serial 182x matches other 14755-1's, like mine below for instance.
The OP hand/dial configuration has been seen on a few 165.014-62's, but production of these were about 18 months later. And yes, hands are clearly later replacements and the second hand is not the correct early "short" teardrop style anyway.

What is somewhat interesting (to me anyway) is the bezel. Even though the pictures aren't High-Res, I don't doubt the originality of this bezel, but the color of the font is rarely seen. These are normally white/off-white/dirty~worn white. Not light yellow. And yes, perhaps it's just the color balance of the picture, but still. I have seen some few other original bezels with the same color scheme, but very rare. The white paint is just, well paint, and could/should perhaps change color during 50+ years of sun, wind and moisture - but on most stay a white shade. So that yellow color still puzzles me.

But still nice and yes, these days that's cheap.

This was the first thing that jumped out at me as well. I have seen several bezels that have aged yellow...just not this deep. It is interesting for sure. Here are a few shots of one of mine that has "aged" yellow.

Regardless...the bezel appears original. although, the only way to tell for sure is to see it in person with a loupe.
