The 120 is one of the top 5 on my hit list. This one popped up today, seller is questionable with no feedback and low numbers- but in the US so if it’s a total disaster there is recourse. I have read the thread but there are so many little variables that are hard to sort. So even if I don’t grab this one, what is right or wrong with it (obviously no movement pic)

    Hey there!
That’s a nice Seamaster. I like the bracelet, although the clasp has some “personalization”.
The write up is almost non-existent and I would try to offer slightly less for this 37mm diver.
I look forward to seeing some wrist shot from you!

Hey Dan! So you think it’s legit? Is this the midsized version and not the full size?

The bezel is bigly on these, and this one looks right. You probably know the hands are too thin, which is exactly what my 120 has, and they look fine but are not original, if you're a stickler. The dial looks good as does the case. The size should be 36mm, right? What is the price?

They want $1.25k. Are hands factory service hands or aftermarket?

Just getting into the 120s myself. Shouldn't the Automatic with date have a cal 565?

Or is this a different reference than the 166.027?

Just looked at comps and I see the difference in the hands-and it’s not subtle, the correct hands are much thicker. Can the correct hands be sourced?

Yeah, should be a 565, why the seller has 1020 I have no clue, he probably meant to type 120. The 1020 is a day/date

That price is well below the going market price, from my experience. I'd expect at least 1700 to 2000 usd for that one. I don't know if those were service replacements, but it's telling that mine and this one have what appear to be identical incorrect hands. Maybe. There is a great info thread here by gemini4? I think that was the ID of the creator. And movement info can be found there, among other places. For 1250, if the mvmnt is right, I'd say it's a good buy, especially with a decent bracelet you could sell to offset a big part of the cost.

For that price, the hands would be a small issue for me. Hands are hands, and on most watches can be replaced, unless it's a 2915, 2998, some other exotic piece.

OH. Sorry, I didn't look at the link. If it's a zero FB seller, I pretty much always avoid those.
The odds of a brand new ebayer selling this watch are slim, and that would explain the price which is far too low. With that bracelet and the correct mvmnt, I'd expect closer to 3k. Avoid, in my opinion.

I would be careful with this one. 0 feedback with a strange add (wrong cal). If that's a 1067 bracelet it's worth almost $ 1250... bracelet only...;)

This is what caused my to send up the flare-it really is too good to be true. If this had been a reference I knew and a picker with lots of feedback but little watch experience, I would have just made the offer and this thread would have been a look at what I got thread

The seller's claimed 1020 movement is still wrong though, so that part i nailed!

Just for the fun of it. Ask the seller to make a picture of the watch with a certain time. Let see what happens.
