Hello all.

Long time watch hobbist and collector form Toronto Ontario. Omega is still my first choice for my vintage collection.

I have several Constellation and Geneve projects nearing completion. I picked up a very nice looking Omega Deville with the electronic movement supplies by ESA ( 9162 ). The watch is all original including the dial, leather band, buckle and crown. Unpolished, so no work has been done to it. I installed a new battery, the watch does run, it hums even.
The only issue is that it runs slow and needs to be regulated. I have researched all of the pitfalls of what can go wrong with these and the most common failures.
Does anyone in this forum still know how to service/repair these? Watch is about 50 years old. Reference is 198.0035
Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers.

Les

When you suggest that it runs too slow. How MUCH too slow? You suggest it needs to be regulated. If the watch is slow a few seconds per day, it may be possible to regulate it. But there is a limit to the effect on the regulators (there are two). If the watch is out minutes in a day, it needs a thorough service, and possible parts.

I have a couple of electronic watches and have found over the years that sometimes, after changing the battery, the running is not as good as it used to be.

So, what I’ve found is that it can help if the new battery (assuming it is a new battery) needs to be repositioned slightly and sometimes it may be that the battery is not as new as I’d assumed.

If you are still looking (I realize this thread is now two months old) for a watchmaker to service this watch, I have been very pleased with the service provided by Paul at electric_watches dot co dot uk for my Seamaster f300 "cone". Last I saw he was on summer holiday but based on his website, should be returning soon.
