I'm afraid I'm no BoR expert -others here will be

the one you posted a link to looks very new, it appears to have upside down links near the clasp (the joint should face down)
-and it says 17mm wide at the watch end -you need an 18mm bracelet (I didn't think they did 17mm?)

here's a link to Desmond's info on BoRs
http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.ae/2007/11/view-beads-of-rice-on-ebay-with-grain.html

BTW -you might get more help if you had started a new thread as this three was about taking links out of a BoR

good hunting

Philip

ps you can still get genuine Omega hands for your Connie -about £100 the set -you can have your watchmaker swap them for you -but you might like to hurry as Omega are going to stop supplying parts to independent watchmakers at the turn of the year

Please don't go to an Omega store!
They will suggest something entirely inappropriate for a vintage watch
You need some more expert help from the guys on this forum about the BoR and a watchmaker who deals in vintage watches

Tip -do some research (despond's blog is a good place to start) and post a new thread asking for help

you can get the hands from Otto Frei -but you have to get the right ones (case reference)
you look to have a lovely Connie there -let someone who knows about vintage watches look at it
if you can't find someone in France look to the UK -a lot of people send their watches away to a trusted watchmaker to be serviced -me included
-there is a watch winging its way from the UK to Dubai as we speak
(and another one soon going the other way...)

BTW -multiple pics of your watch will go down well -esp dial, medallion and crown (the latter on yours is a later replacement -it should be like mine -but that's okay -you can't get the originals)
make sure the pics are clear -esp the fonts on the dial

That band has the more oval end peices of the late 50's early 60's. For a dog leg Connie you want the more squared off bor bracelet of the late 60's.

I'm not talking about how many rows, just the outer row, you want the more squared ones not the oval ones.

Beads of Rice (or BOR), more correctly, Grains of Rice (GOR) Ω bracelet.

So called because the elements that make up the inner part of a link look like grains of rice. More evident in the second picture.

Cheers

Jim

See in this picture, the top two have the later more squared outer row and the bottom has the oval early style rows.

Where is it possible to find the springbars that holds the removable links ? Mine are dead but I can't seem to find any information on these springbars, Thus my BoR can't be used for the moment.

My wife picked up an Omega Seamaster DeVille with a beads of rice bracelet at thrift shop a while back, I love the watch and would like to wear it however I need to remover quite a few links so it will fit.

Could anyone please direct me to instructions on how to do this. I already attempted to remove one link and mu poking around produced a thin long spring and metal end-cap/insert, which I immediately re-installed knowing I was headed into un-chartered waters.

Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you know if Omega can resize a beads of rice bracelet once all of the removable links have been removed? I have a tiny wrist and I need more links removed but my watch repair guy said I've reached the max....

Not sure what you mean by “Omega,” but you will need to unfold a link, remove it, and refold. Figure it out for yourself by watching videos or find a watchmaker or jeweler who knows what they are doing.

Like if I send it into Omega...My watch guy says it's not possible to remove any more links and I certainly don't know how to do this myself

Assuming you are talking about a vintage bracelet , I doubt that an Omega service center will have any interest in doing that. Other than that I think I already answered your question. If you can’t figure it out yourself you need a better watch guy.

The only way to shorten it further is to pry it apart and put it back together, it can be done, your results will depend on the skill and patience of whomever does the work.

I brought it
Find a new watch guy.

I brought it to three different watch repair shops in town and they all said the same thing :/ That's why I am wondering if it's possible to just send it into Omega. I don't know much about this stuff and don't want to attempt anything myself and ruin the band
