It may be peaceful now… On the day……manic chaos, & clogged roads The sheer number of helicopters in the air…looks like the ‘75 fall of Saigon
Sadly not in attendance this year. We normally go full comfort mode with double beds, showers, the lot. Am currently pining for the traditional Thurs night session.
Not under canvas, exactly. But trailering (or caravaning if you prefer). Eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, in Alberta (Canada).
Best bet is a youtube account. Keep in mind there is sometimes a delay in uploading to it being available at most 30 minutes in my experience.
"Such is the number of people flocking to the circuit, the usually quiet village pays host to the world’s busiest airport on race day, with helicopters flying in and out of the circuit on a near constant basis. The Silverstone Heliport even holds the world record for the busiest airport in a single day, having seen over 4,000 helicopter movements on the Sunday of the 1999 British Grand Prix." https://badgergp.com/seven-fascinating-silverstone-facts
And now the pictures I tried to send with my previous post. Internet service was only marginal in our camp ground on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies, and the pictures wouldn’t upload. Our first two days were miserable with wind and rain. These pictures were taken on the third day. Today (Friday) we returned home to 33° C (Close to 90° F). It rarely get that hot in these parts. Makes one long for cooler days in the mountains.
I am sorely disappointed that this thread has gone on for three days and I haven’t yet seen one of these. For shame.
