路Actually, you buy a watch because you like it and it brings you enjoyment. Nobody else notices or cares about what watch you are wearing except a few, and I mean few, fellow watch aficionados. It is only about how it makes you feel.

I agree with everything here, and cannot argue with free market and private ownership, and anyone's right to do what they wish with his own property.
I think some of the emotion here is the idea that this watch should go to someone who will really appreciate it. As far as a Blacklist/priority list... lets just say that they are taking notes... "Blacklist" is my term, not theirs, and I agree it is too harsh a term, and Omega would not take that kind of negative punitive approach. At the same time, as @maxtor71 states, they are surprisingly aware of where this snoopy is going. The strategy wouldn't deny anyone the access to their products, but pieces like this would certainly be better controlled to prevent this type of profiteering. You could also argue that having a limited edition at all results in denying some customers access to their products. I think that they priced it effectively, for the very reason of wanting the true speedmaster lovers to have access to it. The value would still swell in the future, because those that truly wanted it, get it, and hold onto it... This is an industry entirely built on the emotions tied to these objects, otherwise, why would any of us pay the prices we do.
Ironically, something like this snoopy may not come around for a while... the caseback in particular is difficult and time consuming to produce. they could have chosen to make 3 times the number, with less detail, but the 'Product is the priority' (directly quoted from Jean-claude Monachon)
As far as the Belt-tightening on boutique events etc, this year - Olympics in particular, plus the Ryder cup, is eating up the entire budget for those kinds of boutique events... next year will be better.

Thank you. Already got 20 offers close but not what I want.
What was the MSRP? $7,350 plus tax, right? I know that I don't know you and shouldn't judge you; and making assumptions, well we all know what that makes us. I say this at the risk of making an online enemy, but others are thinking it. I suspect that all your declined offers were at least a 50-80% markup for you or more, as I wouldn't pay more than 1.5x for one myself. So if the offers were close to your $20K and rejected, then it makes me wonder if the use of the word "greedy" is appropriate here. Maybe you'll forgive me someday, when we get to know each other better.
