The funny Snoopy is a nice complement to your classic 3570.50.
But if you want to make a quick buck, be quick before the bubble explodes !

Or you could have left it in the boutique for someone who truly wants it but would now have to pay inflated prices (or be patient).

Many with deposits down at the OB are having to be patient anyway... only ~ half of the 1970 watches have been fabricated. Adding to the 'scarcity' effect. once more hit the market, the crazy high process will soften. I don't think this will ever go for less than MSRP, but certainly won't command the 10k plus price again for many years.

As far as your comment about leaving it for someone who would have loved it and not profiteered... Rest Assured, the Omega Network is surprisingly aware of who is buying to flip...Shockingly aware really, and there is a big black list, getting bigger all the time... I would have thought that they would be happy to see the high prices creating an enhanced value impression... but no, they are not pleased that people who would truly love the piece are being taken advantage of. As far as intentionally slowing down the production to create "artificial scarcity' (like PP and Hermes)... also not true... the Snoopy Caseback is just really time consuming and difficult to produce.... hence the relatively low Edition number...

Really? A blacklist of flippers? Come on. It's a watch, albeit a very nice one but we're not talking about selling a baby's kidney here. Omega is part of Swatch, a huge multinational corporation selling a product, high end watches. They could not care less what emotional attachment we have to them. The first call I had from my OB was, you're next on the list, do you want it? Yes? Great, come in and pay now please.
After that they were very nice, helpful and pleasant and I spent an enjoyable evening in the boutique when I collected the watch, chatting to the charming sales people and lucky enough to have a fascinating chat with the watchmaker about the 1861 movement, the new co-axial etc.
But that's it, they are nice people selling a luxury item. I'm not their friend and if I choose to flip my Snoopy I can't see them turning me away if I slap another 5 or 10 grand on the counter for another LE that I happen to like the look of.
To everyone still waiting, all I can say is, it's worth the wait. It really is a beautiful piece.

If you "might" decide to sell it would you consider $20K instead of your $20,150 asking price馃檮

LOL - Well if there is a "black list" I'm sure the OP will find himself on there shortly.

This is ironic, right? Just asking because it's you, otherwise I would've dismissed it easily as ....

Very glad not to be caught up with this! Aesthetically I think it a failure. As for the constructed 'collectability', this seems to me a bit demeaning for Omega - as if the product didn't have a natural status of desirability based on its intrinsic technical and aesthetic characteristics. I believe there鈥檚 something quite unseemly about people wanting to buy in order to make a quick profit on re-sale. To my mind, genuine lovers of fine watches appreciate Omega products on a completely different level. Note: I understand marketing, am not against profit-making in principle and appreciate that personal taste varies considerably. However, I do associate ownership of a Speedmaster Professional with what I think of as a purity of experience (a rare attribute enjoyed by very few manufactured products) and the Snoopy and its marketing simply do not correspond with that.

Basic "supply & demand" will normalize the price....

Bottom-line: People will spend what they feel is a "fair price"....simple as that....or they simply won't buy it. Anything beyond that is some type of regulatory price-fixing "communism".....blah, blah, blah...

I'm confused. You just got it but thinking of selling it AND make a profit out of it ? Didn't the price just drop since you bought it ? Am I missing something ? Did you get like a 30% discount on it or something ?

If you believe buying a luxury watch at or near MSRP is communism you would be utterly shocked by how few luxury watches the East Germans got to buy during the Cold War.

The new Snoopy is going above MSRP already, its a sought after watch and a lot of people are still waiting due to production issues, and in some cases due to mysteriously cancelled orders at ADs, which is interesting given that some ADs have also been selling these same Snoopys well above MSRP on eBay, Chrono24 and other channels.

To be fair to the OP, he has not said he is going to sell it and he has not said he wanted 20k or anything else for it if he did decide to sell it. It could be as simple as he ordered the watch like everyone else based on the pictures put out and now he has seen it in the flesh has decided it's not for him.

Oh I see. This is pretty dubious. If I wanted that watch (it's pretty nifty and I assume it's gonna be one of those watches that might increase in value in 20 years) I would just wait for a year or so to get it for a good price. Unless it would take much longer for them to supply all the orders.

^^^^hahaha....however no...that's not what I said....and not sure what East Germans and MSRP have to do with supply and demand.

But anyways....do you have the data to show the number of "luxury watches that the East Germans got to buy during the Cold War"? Just curious what that number is.....

I bet they had the option to buy plenty of Russian watches, that's for sure. 馃槈
