When I went to an OB they just looked the strap I wanted up on their digital catalogue which clearly showed how the strap was configured. Ask them to show you a pic of the strap you are ordering for clarification.

To be honest I never get genuine straps till now, but as of the last 4 shops I've been in, it's been strictly paper back catalog. Same deal with the folding clasp I got a few weeks ago. I gave them a part number and they still were not confident I was asking for the correct part.

If that's the case the shops you're going to are pretty incompetent. Somewhat expected as the turnover rate for retail reps is pretty high, even in the OB's.

As previously mentioned there are more 21mm cordura straps than 20mm and it's inadvisable to try to squeeze them into the 20mm wide lugs as they contain a hard plastic insert. You can try to dremel the .5mm off of both sides but that method incurs more complications.

The stitching on the cordura straps are pretty basic, so getting the thread replaced should be pretty easy. If there's a good cobbler or tailor in your area they should be able to do it for less than it costs to hem in a shirt or fix a leather upper.

As for 20mm options in cordura, there's also a blue/white cordura strap, the CWZ005345. There a few others in 21mm, but as mentioned above they aren't the best option for 20mm lugs.

And to @Stuie the only "Snoopy" strap is the black/white 20mm, all the other ones are for different models.

I got my Speedmaster at the end of the December. While I liked the bracelet, it wasn't quite the best fit. So I started looking at alternatives.

After looking at endless threads on watch straps for the Speedy, I opted to go with the silver snoopy strap. They clasp and strap cost an arm and a leg, but were well worth it in my opinion. 😀

How much did you pay for it?
And how many MM is the strap ?

Love it! 😀

Currently, own the Omega Snoopy version on my 3592:

As well as a custom blue one on my Bond GMT 2535 which ordered to JR:

Did anyone try the deployant clasp from JR? If so, how's the quality? Omega one is nice, but way more than $40. Alternatively, any recommendations for a good deployant to go with this?

They can do pretty much anything in the available colors, but there's a few caveats:

-Hit or miss if they have the hard plastic end inserts in stock. The inserts give the strap a slightly curved shape which works well with the sportier Speedy Tuesday looks. Otherwise you can get it made with the standard ends, which will leave a larger gap between the strap and case
-JR raised their prices pretty significantly over the last year. The custom order will probably be around $275 for the strap,

Do you have a picture for comparison between both looks with and without hard plastic end inserts?

Also quick questions for experts:
- is it me or do custom JR straps look less padded than OEM ones?
- doesn’t the deployant feel too bulky under the wrist? And is there a big difference in that matter between 16mm and 18mm models? (I have a very tiny wrist and am afraid those deployant would look and feel too big under the wrist…)

I can't speak directly to the padding of the JR straps but in pics they seem about the same.
To the Deployant.
I have a fairly large flat wrist on the top and bottom. The Deployant feels a little disproportionally bulky to me and I put it down to the disconnect between the thickness of the Deployant and thinner nature of the SS strap.
But one gets used to it and we need to keep in mind that a Deployant saves wear and tear on the strap and a genuine SS strap is not cheap. So that's the trade off👎

I much prefer a pin buckle on my straps anyway, so I am a little biased😉

Just the opposite for me, much prefer a deployant buckle on a sport type watch. Everybody is different.
