I'm curious to know your opinions on Omegas decision on the way the 50th anniversary silver Snoopy is sold /availability. I won't explain the policy because I'm sure all of you know how it works. Omega is ( was?) a popular alternative to Rolex due to their "we're going to make you beg" policy. Omega is turning me off over this 50th policy because their starting to act like Rolex. The Omega/Swatch moon watch has the same policy sort of. I'm not hopping on a plain to fly to a boutique to be turned down or asked to pay in full up front to be put on a year or more wait list. Or buying watches I don't want to kiss their a......s. Paying up front is financing Omega. Let me know your thoughts.

This has been discussed multiple times. That is the way Omega decided to play a hot hand with the Snoopy 50th, it is what it is. My view is no manufacturer sets the market price, the market does that. People decide they won't pay a penny above MSRP forgetting that the 'S' is 'Suggested'. You can get a BNIB Snoopy delivered to you the next day if you pay the current market price, so it's up to you. Personally, if I wanted the watch badly enough and I didn't think the market price would crater in the years ahead I would just buy it, others are fixed in their view that they won't pay anything over list price so they play the game of buying stuff they don't want in the hopes of moving up the list, along with a lot of a** kissing along the way. Your choice.

"Starting to Act"? Wasn't it about 2 years ago when they launched it, and used that new reservation/ sales model for it?

If it was easy to get, the resale would not be half what it is and I suspect much of the demand would dry up as a result.

As above, if I was convinced the secondary market would hold and I really wanted the watch, I’d just pony up the market price and enjoy it.

Equally, there are some nice speedies such as the rising sun, Apollo 11 which can be had at a cheaper price and are lovely in their own right..
