One more of my favourite wristwatches with a black dial. I beleive it was made in the 1930:s It has a very special case made by steel Looking for further information regarding the brand Silvana and also if there is any andvert on this watch or if any other brands used the same case.. Best rgds Peter
The hinged lugs are something I've seen on watches described as "drivers watches". The added compass suggests it may have been worn by a rally driver. No expert, just my impressions. Fine numeral font. Very classy and high visibility.
Hello Peter, This Helvetia is similar and I know I have seen one in exactly the same case but of course can't find it now. Silvana were formed in 1923 and interestingly changed their name to Montres Helvetia SA in 1973 when both were part of SGT and Helvetia was dissolved. The Montres Helvetia SA that exists today based in Vienna is the original Silvana. Thanks. Carl.
Thanks Carl, Very nice Helvetia Great info reg. Silvana. Here is another one, it´s from 1930:s I believe but with fixed lugs... Rgds Peter
Here is another exampel from the 1930:s with hinged lugs. It´s NOS and called "MORA" a brand for Sweden sold by JP Brandt/Omega. Rgds Peter
