I've not seen many of these around, even here on OF where it often seems there is one of everything - '60s LIP two-register chrono. Lip is a French market brand that had quite a long history of innovation and design before it faded in the mid-70s (though since revived). They produced perhaps the first electric watch in the early 50s. The original leather strap with checkered racing strip is de la bombe! 馃槑

Paul, that's a stunner. I love the Singer dial.
But your purview of the OF aint what it used to be....

Sweet!

Of course there had to be another one here, and not surprised to see it on your wrist Larry!

What else have you got stashed away in that depthless vault of esoterica? 馃槣

IMO, the very best "exotic" dial that has adorned a Zenith El Primero. Though a similar one can be found on the reference GH2081, it lacks the applied hour markers. There are only, what, 300 of these produced?

That's it! I've got to use the word "exotic" from now on when describing this dial. It has a Newman-like effect on value.

I think you were so mesmerized by the dial that you didn't read the post. 馃槈
The production number was 200, according to R枚ssler. Now tell me about this GH2081... I wasn't aware that the model without applied markets had its own reference... thought it was just a dial variant.

Oh right, this one. With truly hidden lugs and a gold bracelet. The thing is, that dial without applied markers also shows up on examples of ref G383. I've seen a few of those over the past few years, but I've been waiting for a good example with applied markers.

I had forgotten about that fantastically blinged WH 40802. A new entry for the short list.

I'll try to dig up something worthwhile to show off. Hopefully there's something soon coming my way after a long and expensive visit to the spa. Did you get the Tudor MN?

Thoroughly enjoying reading the forums having just found your site earlier this week, I've finally got to the end of this thread so I thought I'd add something that's not been on here yet. This is a Titanium II from 1985 with fixed bezel and gold inserts. First produced in 1982 this one houses a 40j LWO 283 (Lemania) movement with Dubois Dapraz chrono module this later finding its way into the Royal Oak, among others. A few firsts with this range: the first all titanium construction; the first to use carbon fibre as well as offering a mechanical quartz variant. Heuer threw all they had at this as a last gasp attempt to pull in some money - it was the most expensive watch in their range.

This should win the prize for "Most Hands on Dial" among the chronographs posted so far on this thread. It appealed to my inner Geek in a way that could not be resisted.
