Hello everybody

I just serviced (second service i didby myself) this r17.8 with unknown reference in a simple two piece case. I love the dial (despite some damage/you might call it patina) with full arabic numerals and two-tone brushing.
The watch was losing 20 minutes a day and had a very low amplitude. Now it has a delta of about 30 seconds after only cleaning and oiling.

I find the movement very interesting as it was used also in round cases despite the almost rectangular form.

It was also made in a chronometer version.

Please show me yours.
I'll show you mine: View attachment 1532534 View attachment 1532536 View attachment 1532537

Spectacular watch and cool you were able to give it a cleaning and oiling yourself. 👍

Thank you! I am very proud that i was able.
I think part of the charm of the watch to me is, that i probably was a cheaper watch than the contemporary 30t2 but with a similar style.

Center sweep are uncommon in this reference. Nickel movement is earlier version

Mine from circa 1939.....and sharp line angles are good.

Try replacing the balance staff.

Mine improved drastically when the staff was replaced.

Thanks for the tip! I think a delta of 30 seconds is fine enough for me and for an almost 80 years old watch. So i will not risk damaging the balance. I also do not have a watchmakers lathe (yet) to remove the old balance staff.

Bought not running. It needed some holes closed. Now running fine.
Does anybody know this reference? Do you think the seconds hand is original?
Am i right, that the "M" on the Movement is fitting for a Fab Suisse dial?
