My limited collection consists of a new CK2998, a helson shark diver and oh, yes a Reverso large duo face small seconds (with three straps) so that makes eight watches 😀

Just a couple of old things ...
With this on hold for me over at a retired watchmaker's. I know it's not a "true" Jaeger but I'm thinking of turning it into a desk clock

Hello all simple question what would people recommend for daily wear . The 60th anniversary Seamaster or a Jaeger Lecoultre master control date sector dial . What are people’s thoughts and daily wear . Long term value etc

I'd probably go for the Seamaster for daily wear. I think it's one that comparatively speaking, you might not have to baby so much...wear all day, in the shower, working in the garden etc. The JLC master control is a great looker...fab with a suit/ executive job style of wear- but I'd be constantly worrying about it being robust enough to get worn constantly without incident...
Resale value of non-vintage JLC's seems to be really pretty bad. They lose so much value so quickly and don't seem to shift that often. Suggest you go into advanced search settings on ebay and see what each watch has actually sold 2nd hand for recently and make your chice from there.
Or use the money to buy 4 or 5 excellent vintage watches of varying styles and brands and rotate weekly through them.

I've had a JLC Master Control Date w/ Sector for a few months now and wear it very often. It's definitely one of my dressier watches, but it is more casual/versatile than the standard Master Control Date with applied markers. The movement is proven so I have no worries about durability. However, I wouldn't compare the durability to a Seamaster. I've noticed there aren't a lot of these for sale at a given time and values seem higher now than they were shortly after the watch was released.

In the end, it's a very attractive watch from a great brand. If you like it, buy it! On second thought, this JLC plus the Seamaster 60th would be a pretty great 2-watch collection.

I have a few:

The first I acquired was this late '40s triple date in steel:

Then a first generation (ref. 3151) Memovox:

Then this 1949 triple date moonphase LeCoultre in gold fill (for the USA market):

And then there is this modern Master Calendar :
