The Zenith A3817 is without doubt my favourite watch, a personal grail. I’ll get the ball rolling with mine...
This topic is pure drug! I really love my 384 but I think in the next future a 3817 could be a great addiction.
i have been looking for a perfect one of these for years. . with no luck. had a polished one i sold. now i know where all of the good ones are!!
i find it interesting that it is seemingly so much easier to find a good a386 vs the a3817 and even harder to find a great a3818
How does the A3817/A3818 fit compare to the A386? They seem a little smaller in terms of dial size but is case size the same? I love the look of the A3818s.
Production estimates A386 4500 units, A3817 & A3818 1000 units. Plus the tonneau case shapes of the later do not take well to even minimal polishing. Add to that the 70s blue dial are notoriously flaky....
I personally find the A3817/8 wear a bit more “natural” as the angle of the lugs feels like they wrap the case around the wrist. Could just be my puny wrists.
In my opinion the A3817 and A3818 have to be some of the nicest looking vintage watches out there. Sorry I already posted above but couldn't resist now that the A3818's are coming out
wristpirate's Zenith collection is crazy if you look at his Instagram These A3818s are so pretty. Wish I could find one in good condition before wristpirate does. There's one for sale in ebay, but not very good condition.
Some exceptional examples in this thread. Or, in the case of @wristpirate, five (!) exceptional examples! This a3817 checking in from South Carolina along with some distant cousins.
