·Just took delivery of my first worldtimer. As with GMTs they appeal to the adventurer, but unlike GMTs, worldtimers speak to an interest in geopolitics through the cities that atre chosen to represent different time-zones. Vintage worldtimers take us back to different periods, and the place where the watch was made, or the market the watch is targeted at, influences the decision as to which cities are used.
Mine, for example, will always be a reminder of a time when Mumbai was called Bombay, and unusually, it offers Jerusalem to represent GMT +2 hours which I've never seen on any other watch.
I'd love to see pictures of your worldtimers, and any stories that might explain the places they display.
