I tried out a few NATO straps on my Seamaster while its bracelet was being repaired under a warranty claim. The camo strap was purchased years ago from Cheapest NATO Straps, now CNS, for use on my old Swiss Army. CNS seems to have changed vendors since, as their straps are thinner but more supple now. I preferred them when they were thicker and more rugged, even though the material was less refined.
I originally purchased the leather NATO from B and R bands for my Speedmaster, but quite like how it turned out on my Seamaster. The leather was so thick I had to purchase speciality curved spring bars from Swatch to use the band with my Seamaster, which can be seen below. I guess a leather NATO on a dive watch doesn’t make a damn lick of sense, but it felt absolutely luxurious wearing on hikes in the cold December weather.
I’m glad to have the watch back on its bracelet for now, but I liked how light it was on the NATO straps and will definitely try them out again down the line. The watch really felt like a tool on them.
