·Nice collection
I love mechanical objects and see them as art forms. My love affair with watches is currently 33 years old. For me it started in college with a Seiko chronograph that I was able to purchase while working through school. At that time, it didn't require a second or third mortgage to go to college. A few years later I got hooked by a TAG, then a TAG chronograph. At that point, I sold one to get the next one. The one watch at a time mindset ended with those. I still have the watches referenced below. By the mid 90's I saw and purchased this (2296.80). Still my favorite.
Later, I got taken in by a Speedy (3590.50) and a desire for a manual wind watch. Then decided I needed a RM chronograph (2812.52), to round out the offering. Little did I know, I created my own "Trilogy" collection. I thought I was done and was happy with the three. Then I saw the bezel on the newer Seamasters and went with this black on black diver (212.30.41.20.01.003).
Again, happy to have what I had, until I got interested in this GMT (2234.50). I like the old school bezel on this one.
I always thought the Ploprof was an awesome timepiece, I didn't really give it much more thought than that. Then over the past 5 years, I started to casually follow prices as my desire continued to grow. Tried one on in the NYC OB to confirm that I would be happy regarding how it fit my wrist. This is my grail watch (224.30.55.21.01.001).
With it, I think I've jumped the shark and will, hopefully, enjoy what I have. I know I'll be enticed by what I see from others. It already happened this morning...
I've enjoyed looking at the various Seamasters in this thread. Thanks for posting.
I got a fever and my only prescription is more...
