I've got both the current ceramic and a 2531. It does wear thicker, but the biggest difference is easily the increase to 42 mm and the increased lug to lug of almost 50 mm, an approximate 2 mm increase in total wrist coverage.

I agree 100%. My daily is a 2531.80 because the 42mm (which I owned at one time) was just a bit too large for my tastes. It was beyond the tipping point.

But sometimes I prefer the ceramic look so I popped an aftermarket ceramic bezel into an extra bezel frame I had to get the 42mm ceramic look without the size. I switch back and forth between this and the standard bezel insert.

Gotcha. Always wondered if indeed wore a little thicker on the wrist than its older brother. I remember the coaxial movement adding a bit more thickness. Maybe one day I’ll end up buying one myself to try. Hey you’re in good shape though. Enjoy your 300M Summer Blue!
The 2220.80 doesn't wear that much thicker when compared to the 2531. It is slightly thicker but not as thick as the 2018 SMP 300M Diver.

I love my SMP 300M Diver Summer Blue, it is a gorgeous watch and I love the way the light changes the color of bezel and dial.

I think this is the important Dimension to focus on, because my summer blue shares the same case size and lug to Lug size as the 2531, and despite being taller, wears very, very similarly. It probably helps that the more domed Crystal accounts for most of the height difference.

The 42mm Seamaster wears much larger, despite being, on paper, less tall than the Heritage model. I really do think it is because of the across the wrist size.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily bad, I very much like mine.
I haven't tried on the new ceramic model yet. But the 2018 model SMP 300M Divers wear very well on my wrist but then again I'm coming from wearing a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm. Which is 4mm larger than the 42mm of the 2018 SMP 300M Diver 😅

That 3rd party ceramic bezel looks really nice and the color matches very well with your 2531.80

I agree. I owned both at one time. The 2220.80 measured around 12.7mm thick and the 2531.80 around 11.8mm. I consider the 2531.80 thin for a dive watch (especially one with 300m WR) and the 2220.80 is still really good in terms of thickness. The ceramic 42mm SMP is more like 13.8mm. Not terrible, but not ideal. In my opinion anyway.

RE the 42mm
13.6 for the display caseback version and about 13.5 for the summer blue. 13.8 for the most recent vintage domed version.

I haven't tried on the new ceramic model yet.

So- what I meant was, the current generation ceramic, which is the one that was released in 2018. Mine isn't dimensionally much different than yours at all, and in fact yours is likely a hair thinner because of the Steel case back.

But they'd wear mostly the same.

That is true, I have tried on both the SMP 300M Diver Seaweed Green and the Summer Blue before pulling the trigger on my Summer Blue. You really can't tell the difference in thickness between them it is really not noticable

Yeah, the new model SMP 300M Diver with the aluminum bezel is slighty thicker due to the domed sapphire crystal, which does make it look slightly thicker main due to the domed crystal.

Well, today I bought the seamaster. I was torn between the summer blue with the solid case back and the Poseidon engraving and the dark blue with sapphire case back. I opted for the dark blue as I thought it just looked a little better at various angles. Nice watch. My third Omega this year... ugh.

They threw in a blue leather strap and a NATO strap (dark blue). These will be mailed to me. The clerk was telling me that prices were going up. I find it hard to believe that tariffs are the cause, but who knows. The straps, I think, are $400 ish. So pays for the sales tax.

I love my Summer Blue SMP 300M Diver, as the way the light changes the color of the bezel and dial is just stunning.

It seems likely that a 39% import tax on goods imported from Switzerland would rise prices in the US. But the "buy now, tomorrow it will be more expensive" are probaly heard from vendors since flint axe times.

Beautiful watch! Lets see the other two.

Apparently, Omega has sent notice to the boutiques that prices will rise October 1st, although 40% of 5,900 would increase the price to 8,600 ish, my AI says the bump will be $300-$500... in line with what the salesclerk said. I think I got a decent deal as I found out the leather strap retails for 350 and the Nato for 190. Will the straps be the same as sold online? I will have to wait and see. The clerk also said that the Caribbean Isle stores will not offer discounts any longer as this is being discouraged by Omega. Oh well, I did get two straps, whereas I only got one strap on my last purchase.

Omega is planning a price increase starting October 1st, 2025, with hikes ranging from 7% to 16%, depending on the model and materials. This move is largely in response to the 39% tariff imposed on Swiss exports to the U.S., along with inflation and currency fluctuations.

The Seamaster 300M will likely seeing a bump to around $6,200–$6,400.

I maybe should have bought the summer blue. I like the Poseidon case back. It was only $300 more...

I may make this a daily wear, saving the moon watches for special occasions.

Tariffs are "taxed" at the wholesale price level, also manufacturers could eat part of the charge to avoid having products being unsellable. No thought in my mind the msrp won't go up with 2.7K.
