I try to wear my Seamaster as much as I can. The clasp sure takes a beating being so large as it is. Anybody know how remove some of these swirl marks? I use a Scotch Brite pad on my other watches but I don’t think the brushing quite matches the Seamaster. It’s too coarse.

Can't remember but one of the finer ones, don't think I've ever used to the more course ones.

    Here you go.

I use both. I wouldn’t really try to fix this. It won’t take more than a few months to have all of this back, so why bother? Maybe when they go in for service, but even then I’ll probably pass.

I don't know if you're a member of TZUK but somebody over there sells a little contraption to make refinishing of the Seamaster clasp an absolute breeze. Cool little contraption, I don't have his details I'm afraid before you ask, have just seen them sold off in small batches now and again.

I use a Bergeon satin finish block in "medium".

I agree, I was thinking of just having it done during a service but thought it would be nice to just do a quick touch up in between without doing too much damage.

I just leave it alone - the clasp is gonna get scratched again tomorrow anyway.

But hey, that’s just me.

Actually, I've learned what scratches the clasp and what to avoid. Modern plastic desk tops will scratch the heck out of stainless. So will the palm rests of your MacBook Pro. So, cover those things and that'll take care of a lot the scratching potential.

So I don't have to touch up often.

Yes, it turns out that most of my Omega stuff was brushed about the same. If it's not Omega, I guess I don't care quite so much.

Yea I use a MacBook Pro for work. Definitely careful with that but I think my wood desk is causing problems...at least the corners.

I start with a Scotch Brite pad to remove heavy marks and scratches. Moisten the pad and rub with the grain. Next, I use a Cape Cod cloth to remove fine scratches. Use gentle pressure on both. I finish by polishing with an eyeglasses cloth.

Omega clasps will brush perfectly with scotch pads. I cannot tell the difference between the brushing personally.

    Xpel your clasp!!
    It’s an automotive clear wrap.
You don’t need much, just $10 worth to do a dozen clasps. try Amazon (other brands work too)
    Never see scratches again!!!

first, gotta deal with those scratches though.
