my avatar has my 5512. Alas!! had a little bump in the road and sold it for some fast cash. I miss it as it was my birth year (71) and a great example but I did make a killing with the sale so it served it's purpose.
tempting.....trully, but I just spent quite a bit of money on a hulk and an iwi 8 day. isnthe one you have a 71?
This is interesting, I am experiencing exactly the same since a couple of months... opening my eyes to other brands, discovering many amazing things. Thread followed. I wouldn’t mind a 5513 with a faded bezel
Yup. Like you, I love the research part of getting into a new area. And I can barely keep a Speedmaster on my wrist for a couple of hours before I want to go back to a vintage Sub again. Even an Ed White gets replaced these days. Damn, this watch shit is a disease and the OF is the Diamond Princess of that contagion. My confession: after the period in my childhood where I kept leaving watches in clothes I put in the laundry, in the early 60’s, they finally got me a diver’s watch with a rotating minute bezel. I no longer remember the off-brand, but it was clearly an early imitation of these Rolex Subs, probably at 35mm. Even at seven years old, I loved being able to time things with it — which started my life long attachment to watches capable of this function. Anyway, @kov : beware of this — in my experience, like Speedmasters and potato chips, it’s hard to stop at just one. Heaven help us!
