As a fan and collector of vintage chronographs, no matter how prominent their brand name is, I was quite surprised that there seems to be no dedicated thread yet bringing together the unparalleled variety of watches powered by the foremost chrono workhorses of the most colourful and eclectic era in watchmaking, (the later 1960 and especially) the 1970s.

(At least I was not able to find such a thread easily – in case it was just my own fault please accept my excuses and delete/integrate my post into the respective correct thread. I was also not sure whether this should be part of the open discussion or other watch brands forum but opted for the open discussion in order not to exclude brands with their separate forum.)

To give this topic a little bit of historical context, here's the model history of this particular range of movements:
Timeline-of-the-7730.jpg
Image source and copyright: Farmelo A. (Worn & Wound): Chronography 13: The Important History of the Valjoux 7730, a Classic Mid-Century Movement, April 26, 2018

So, without further ado, let’s show here all kinds of models with the following movements, no matter whether these are well-known or rather obscure:
- Valjoux 7730: basic chronograph version (and nothing else but a renamed Venus 188)
- Valjoux 7731: like the 7730 but with a new balance cock
- Valjoux 7733: redesigned and further developed 7731
- Valjoux 7734: like the 7733 but with an additional date display (Poljots 3133 are also welcome)
- Valjoux 7736: like the 7733 but with an additional 12-hour counter
- Valjoux 7737: chronograph with a (10-minute) regatta countdown

I’m starting it off with a Sabina 7733 chronograph in a tonneau case on what is believed to be its original (signed) stainless steel bracelet.

Edit note: thread title & initial post adjusted and original list of relevant movements extended to not only include 7733s and 7734 but the entire 773x range

Lovely, and the original bracelet puts the cherry on the cake.
Moreover, the absence of lume should be a sound basis for almost eternal youth of the dial.

Kind regards,

A 5 digit serial and no SU pre numbers points to circa 1989-90 production.

It's always nice to have a few extras to go with your watch, even they mainly serve as props in photos.
By the way, the "Novet" on your bracelet is actually cyrillic for "Poljot" (flight) which, just as "Sturmanskie" (written on the dial), was another original brand of the 1st Moscow Watch Factory (other brands included Pobeda, Wympel, Kirowskije, Sportiwnyje, Strela and Antarktida).

Kind regards,
F.Antl

I am continuing the photo gallery with an Arsa chronograph (not with me any longer and I'm trying to convince myself that I don't regret it...). It's powered by a Valjoux 7734, with the date window positioned at 6 o'clock. The same dial design can also be found in another case shape branded as Arsa Super Sous-Marine and the exact same watch was also available with the brand labels Revue and Lorenz.

Now that also the 7737 movement fits in here, I am adding a Memosail chrono to the list. This particular example came in an all stainless steel case (there's also chrome plated versions available) and is "1 star" of a watch as regards strap versatility.

Poljot Sturmanskie "Red Star" powered by the Poljot 3133 movement, that is said to be a particularly rare model from the popular Sturmanskie series, produced specifically for the Italian market around 1993 (despite its USSR-marking ("СДЕЛАНО В СССР") on the dial).
