Gents, some thoughts on my dilemma. One thing I have "probably" decided is that I will reduce my collection. From my UG collection I had two in mind....below my thought process. 1. UG Tricompax gold cap probably least valuable but gets a lot of wrist time. Patina is nice, love the way raised indices catch and reflect light and nice large size. Thinking keeper. 2. UG Calendar has awesome eggshell like patina, dial plays nicely in light but gets little wrist time. Size of case is smaller than others. Thinking of moving on. 3. 60's UG is a favourite and has good investment potential....Keeper 4. SS 40's UG has nice large case, nice patina, just shy of 37mm but not a fan of the fancy lugs...in the sell basket. What do you think? Now of to see what others I can cull
I would probably keep the SS tri and one gold tri, probably the later one. But it sounds like the gold plate is getting the wrist time, so I guess that leaves u with two gold tri’s, one that you wear and one for investment.
I would keep The 222100 and the Day-Date, and sold the SS Tri if you do not like it If you wear lot the gold cap, keep it
I've spent months looking for a good SS tri-compax. Please let me know if you decide to part with it.
That 1950-60 222100 looks completely lost. I think you should sll me that one or talk to me about a possible trade Just trying to help ...
Thanks Florent, I know it is not the highest in the fashion stakes but yes it does put a smile on my face
I've gone through the same dilema but never part with anything. Good luck trying to decide, some very niece pieces there!
I'd keep the gold cap and the calendar and sell the other Tri's. there are no shortage of Tri's out there so it's not like you wouldn't be able to pick another up. you don't see many of the calendars, and even though it's slightly smaller it looks like it wears well (and your comments regarding the watch). .02c deposited.
I'd keep the gold cap as it seems you wear that one the most. I'd also keep the 222100 because I personally prefer the 1960's UG aesthetics.
