Hi all! I've enjoyed reading your posts and am doing my best to get 'smarted' up as one of you has said. I'm just not sure where to turn to find the info I need. I saw this watch after days of obsessive web prospecting. This would be my first Omega purchase; I really like it but it's expensive...$1250, though I'm sure negotiable.

I'm wondering if it appears legit and what the market price for the piece might be. Is the dial original? Its reference number is 166.022, caliber 565. I would really appreciate your insight and advice. Thank you in advance!

Legit. Bad redial. Rotor bush worn, needs service. Movement colours don't match.

Far too expensive for what it is.

This looks very expensive to me. Personally, I think you'd get a better watch at better value from a better more informed seller on the Watches for Sale part of this Forum.

What is it you like about this one? The crosshairs? Do you aticularly want a geneve? I second the look in the for sale section! There are nice vintage omega's there for good fair prices.

    As said, bad redial.

Wow - thank you for the quick response. May I ask what clues you found to tell you that it was a redial?

Thank you for asking - I like the color, the crosshairs, the whole look of the watch. I like the fact that it's clean, but it would seem that the redial has me fooled! I'll look more closely in the sale section on the site. The organization of it all is a bit daunting, but I trust the community! Thanks again!

So it seems you want a dome dial, 60's, crosshair from omega. Whether a geneve, seamaster, or Connie. Good news is, these come up pretty regularly. I'll let you know if I come across one that is ok.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you kindness! I've been looking for Constellation or Seamaster with date complication and not seeing a whole lot. And now I don't trust anything I see!

Oh my...and they look so crisp and clean to me! I wonder if I'll ever develop the 'eye' to spot such things?!

Look at the lines, how there blotchy, plus the dot by the date is on the bottom, but even on the other side, plus lines are too thick compared to font. I sent a pm on a great deal.

All three e's in geneve look different, the horizontal crosshair does not meet the 3 hash mark The vertical crosshair is not centralized in the omega logo. Just to name some.

No problem, happy to help I'm a newbie here too. I've been burned a couple of times on eBay etc. through my naïveté, it's not a great feeling when you find that out. You're in a much more protected environment here. All the best with your purchase, when you find the one!

These are a really great watch to buy though still (Just not this one given its condition and extreme price) as they tend to be better water resistance wise than a lot of other 60s models and can be had for very good prices compared to Seamasters or Constellations with similar movements.
