Sometimes you have to do something different and take a chance, take a leap of faith. So they did in 1965. Ref. BA 111.1763, 300 examples were made with the double eagle coin, as follows: BA 111.1707 simple coin watch, BA 111.1763 coin watch with pendant and BA 111.1777, a wristwatch. The double eagle coin was placed in circulation for the first time in 1850. It features the bust of Liberty surrounded by thirteen stars, representing the original states of the Union.
The Saint-Gaudens double eagle is a twenty-dollar gold coin, or double eagle, produced by the United States Mint from 1907 to 1933. The coin is named after its designer, the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who designed the obverse and reverse. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful of U.S. coins.
Made from a real old coin 22k yellow gold, the case of the movement is 18k. This a one of them, serviced by Omega itself, so in mint condition. It has caliber 700 and is manual winded. Not for putting it on your wrist but maybe on your desk. Not a bitcoin but areal Omega coin!
that is actually really cool. I had no idea those even existed
Pretty sure I've seen a Rolex Cellini branded one of these. The fact there are so many similar versions with different branding makes me think they may have been made by a third party with proprietary parts.
in 1970s, there are many brands making coin watch, include piaget, vc, pp, ap, ug. they just want to show their ultra thin movement. but most of those movement was made by jeager, and the brand do some finishing/skeleton or modify.
yes, those coin case in made by same company, and movement mostly from jeager. but omega made their own, its in red copper, different with other brand. and its rare also, i believe they did not make many piece. mostly on market is piaget
