I aquired recently some NOS hands. What makes me wonder is, the dropend chronosecond is shorter than the original mounted ones but the lume seems to be tritium. The lume glows but by far not so bright as luminova and it's getting dark relatively fast.

My question: Could it be the lume is tritium (what means the hands must be older than 25 years and the drop end chronosecond is shorter since this).

Shorter in total or do you mean a shorter dropend? Might be a Seamaster Chronohand, but I have not enough expertise on that.

 

Some drop-end chrono hands are shorter than the originals, I'm not sure why but you may be able to find some answers via Google or the OF search function. These hands may very well be tritium, from before 1997 or 1998 - from your description of their behaviour after being charged, it sounds like they are

 

Are those the ones that were on ebay a few days ago?

The ones that originally were posted at $250, then bumped to $300, and when I PM'd the seller be said they were actually $350, but that I could have two pairs for $400 each?
