Mr Lunchbox
·Learned folks- I have a ~ 16 year old Seamaster GMT (so called Great White). I've never had it serviced. It now is losing about 15-30 secs a day. Also, the 24 hour bezel is a bit tough to turn. Prob time to bite the bullet and have it cleaned (inside), oiled and adjusted.
Any recs on relatively inexpensive service options? Im in San Francisco, but don't mind sending is away to get a good price. Also....thoughts on getting it polished or leaving it alone?
The watch is in good condition with exception of tons of small scratches (approx 4 billion I think). Everything else is fine. Still looks sharp- the bracelet works fine, crystal is unscratched, face and hands are as new, the watch sets easily, and I still wear it swimming, in the shower etc. Im thinking that with all the little scratches we are now in "patina territory" so Im thinking of asking whoever does the cleaning, not to polish the watch.
