Serial numbers

I recently bought a Tudor from a seller in Hong Kong, I noticed the serial numbers between the lugs were off centred. He said that's normal in older watches. Does anyone else have a Rolex/Tudor with it's serial numbers off centred?

Please show us pictures! Of the watch, and particularly, between the lugs!

As you can see it's much closer to the left lug

Looks okay to me. I have included a picture of the model number of my Rolex Daytona which I recently sold. The serial number is centred, but in the uploaded picture, you will see the model number is off centre.

FWIW - I have a ladies DJ for sale with a rather wonky model number imprint... but there is no doubt its genuine ...

so serials/model # from the 60ies/70ies might be pretty much all over the place ...

I have no doubt yours is ok, as the font and way its "imprinted" looks awfully familiar ...

Do they "hammer" each letter/number manually ? Or is there a machine that does this and the spacing might change due to them having to change the letters/numbers ?

That depends on its authenticity 👍

I know in the 40s they were stamped.

Your 6919 stamped doesn't look good at all ,

Is the serial number looks the same?

no, serial numbers look more conventional ...

this might however be an issue linked to the small size of ladies watches ...

here is another example that crossed my way (not my watch!) - again vintage AND ladies ...
