i BOUGHT A 1956 MELBOURNE OLYMPIC WATCH AND NOTE THAT ON INSIDE CASE BACK OF THE 2850SC
THE SERIAL IS 194255!! NOT A 14--------- NUMBER?
ANY EXPLANATION?

Brian,

usually ref 2850 has 8 digit case serial numbers.
But don´t worry, your serial number is also correct.
I have one in my collection with a 6 digit only case serial number beginning with 19xxxx and only 93 numbers apart from your´s.

Serial number is on the movement. Here is an example of the inside of a Ref. 2850 case:

Cases can sometimes be also be dated by their separate serial numbers.

THANKS, Having trouble downloading images from watch.But the serial number on movement is 30580432 , Dial has DON insert and back has seahorse.

None of that makes any sense at all. If you are talking about a separate watch, a 1970 Speedmaster for instance it might be best to post a photo and say so otherwise it sounds like you have one very weird 2850.

Its Speedmaster 145-022 69st ref 2850sc...trying to download images and hope will suceed! thanks

I think that watch needs to come home, here to Melbourne......
I can hear it pining for the trams.......it can stay rent free at my place, with some of It's Omega relatives......I'll look after it for you 😀

Am I the I it one that thinks it is a redial? It might have helped if we had stick to photos if one watch of course. I’m taking about the Melbourbe.
