Serial number help

Recently I found a Seiko 6139-8000 when going through some of my dads old military stuff. I’ve never seen him wear any kind of jewelry even wedding rings so when I found this watch I was pretty excited. The first 2 numbers in the serial number are 0&4. Meaning April, 1970 right? But the thing is my dad is certain he bought it in late 1969 in Sapporo Japan. And he has pretty good evidence to back this up as he was shipped out over Christmas in 1969 and didn’t return to Japan. Anybody have any ideas that would solve this mystery?

Run it through this website its conclusive proof of when it was MFG'ed . Unless your Dad was in the Final Countdown and could time travel I doubt he purchased a watch before the Seiko serial number said it was made.
