Is this warranty date possible with this serial number

This is a very rarely seen model so our answers wont be definitive. It is a mid sized model with a feminine looking blue shaded mother of pearl dial. I have seen one internet source that says it was launch in 2006. Equally though I see there is one for sale on ebay, perhaps the watch the OP refers to with the matching serial and a printed warranty card dated 2001 and old enough to be from 2001. In short, on balance I think it is legit.

Regarding the serial, yes SMPs were in the 80m range in the early 2000 period. As above, don't believe the bullshit lists online.

Typically the serial number websites are just guesses and aren't particularly accurate. So I wouldn't pay much attention to those charts.

The 2050.71 isn't listed on the Omega website, so I don't see the release year for that one (and all of google is pooped-up with listings of watches that list t he year based on those charts it seems), but the 2255.80.00 is the 'base' model, and was released in 2000, so the year would be consistent at least?

Tellingly, I see none listed with a serial number 'early' enough for folks to call it anything but a 2005 or 2006, which tells me that, if we're confident it came out in ~2000, that the 78-81 million serial numbers (which are listed as 05/06) are consistent with this model through its release for some reason.
