It all started with the purchase of a 145.022-69 Speedmaster and then I thought it would be nice to have one from my birth year which I dutifully sought out and purchased. Was that enough,.. Noooooo!! I then thought it would be really cool to fill in the gap seeing as to how my birth year is 1960 and so the quest began Last week I managed to put the last link in the chain. I decided to go for the serial numbers for the very early sixties and then matching case number there after, however I suspect my quest is not truly finished because I now feel the nee to get models where there were two different models at the same time. But for now I am calling the quest complete 1960 2998-2 1961 2998-5 1962 105.002-62 and the 2nd 1963 105.003-63 "The Ghost" 1964 105.003-64 With a service dial, one day I will find an old original one. I hope. 1965 105.012-65 1966 105.012-66 1967 145.012-67 1968 145.022-68 1969 145.022-69 And the group shot They are not museum pieces or perfect but they are worn and cherished. Cheers
Boooom!! Excellent on theme collecting, I love it Of course when you said that you thought you were now finished, what you actually wanted and meant to say was, "I'm enjoying this short breather while I can, for as long as it lasts, until the madness takes over again, as it surely will, and I begin the predictable quest for the 59, 58 and 57"
Man, what a collection! Love the 1966 model; the pulsations bezel and especially the design of the strap...where did you pick up the strap?
e x c e l l e n t collection and quite thematic Youl'l get all the counseling you most certainly need, here on OF
Who is the maker of the strap in your fifth picture and on the 67 as well...and yes of course I noticed the watches what can one say...lucky you! Enjoy them!
This is a mean....torturous thread.........You make me not sleeping well and dreaming those alpha hands. So you have to let go one of the alpha hands to me....... Seriously any one is fine
The one in the fifth picture is an F&F which came with the watch, they are quite a cheap strap and the one on the 67 is a Hirsch from Walt at Lone Star Watches.
1. Awesome 60's collection and thanks for sharing 2. You need professional help, but with most addicts, you have to want to get better, nobody can do it for you. 3. A question of forum protocol: can a person claim dibs on an entire collection all in one shot ? Although this quest is complete, I wonder what your next chase will be.
what straps are on the -1961 2998-5, 1962 105.002-62 (stunning watches!) 105.002-62 is just beautiful thanks for sharing - epic collection. mike
Sorry I can't help you with the one on the 2998-5 as it was on it when I purchased and it has no branding. The 105.002-62 with the dauphine hands has an F&F and the baton hands is a Wempe. cheers
