Unboxed, set, first 5 minutes on the wrist.

Nothing remotely like it has been near my watch box before.

Awesome watch! I tried it on a few weeks back but found the chronograph was too big for me personally. I do love how they managed to integrate the pushers in a very nice way.

I also tried on the standard Octo Finissimo in titanium and one in brushed/polished steel. The titanium is classic, but I was surprised how much I liked the steel version with black dial. It's quite a statement piece though...

I would love to see the steel with black dial.

The new “S” models, with lume and 100m water resistance, are also intriguing.

Though in the steel and “S” the watches are increased in thickness, and I was most drawn to the thinnest!

I have to try one on. I love the design but can't tell if I would actually ever be able to wear it. Does not really look like it would fit into my "lifestyle."

Do try one on, if only that watch people should find a chance to handle one. That said, at this point I think there’s a range of experiences to be had between the Chrono-GMT (~2mm wider than the smallest version), the SS versions (shiny!), the simple 3-hand version, etc.

As for the “lifestyle” point, I think I catch your drift. I do find myself wondering exactly which sort of days I’ll be reaching for it from an aesthetic/fashion/functionality approach (as opposed to simply wanting to wear the watch for the watch’s sake). I think I’ve formed some opinions on that, but let’s see how it goes in practice.

I’ll say this: because it’s so light and comfortable on the wrist, I just accidentally slept in it not noticing to take it off

My wife does that occasionally, one night she slept with her Marathon Navigator on (equally very light as it’s made of composite) and I woke up to that lume staring me right in the face- scared the shit out of me!

Being matte dark grey and lacking lume, you would have no such scares at night from the OF 😁
