Always have admired Seiko innovation and technology. The Swiss still can do a few things better...
1. Swiss Army Knife
2. Fondue
3. Banks
4. Taller Mountains

The Swiss have been out done in the multi blade army knife category.
The Polish Army Pocket Knife has all the features of the Swiss knife plus a tiny shovel and flash light. The shovel is to dig a hole to poop in and the flashlight is so you don't step in it in the dark.

It may have been enhanced but that's the sound:
T0 is clearly characterized by its ticking sound. An escapement ticks eight times per second if a watch has 28,800 vibrations/hour. In the case of T0, the ticking sounds like a 16th note feel, accompanied by the impact sound of a constant-force every second.
There is a long history of the Japanese including the consideration of sound in their design of everyday things. It's really quite interesting stuff. One of the more recent pop culture examples of this is the episode called "Composure and Elation" of Malcolm Gladwell's podcast "Go and See" (which is really just a series adverts on different aspects of Lexus with some interesting tangents thrown in and around the marketing). Worth checking out if for no other reason than to learn more about taking design beyond just what you see.

In Europe the distinctive sound of the exhaust of the old time Harley Davidson is considered a sound of power and quality. So much so that some Japanese and European bikes have been modified to mimic that sound.
The old time HD motor exhaust is a product of its unique valve timing. Its technically inefficient but it sure sounds good.

I would quite happily swap a Rolex for a Grand Seiko.

But would anyone want to trade a Grand Seiko for a Rolex?
