Seiko SKX017 rarity?

Hi,
I'm looking to have a complete collection of midsize SKX's, so an 013, 015 and an 017.
From my research, this also seems to be the order of rarity.
There is an original skx017 for sale on eBay currently for $600. From what I have gathered, the previous skx017's have gone on eBay for $100-$200.

Is this just some crazy seller with a ridiculous price, or is the skx017 market so dry, that sellers can ask what they want?

Cheers, Hans

This is the listing:

Add the words "ultra rare"..set your ludicrous price and wait to see what happens.

Let's just hope no one buys it at $600, as that would set a bad precedent for future listings

I guess adage is true: if you dont ask, you wont get.

I think that’s how the craziness in the steel sports watch started. Somebody had the guts to start the ball rolling on asking a ludicrous price.

Yes, "ultra rare" indeed... Now, if only it was "mega rare" then who knows what it could be worth.

Isnt “mega” less extreme than “ultra”?

Or is it like asking which is bigger: zillion or gazillion. 😀
