Well, if it has to be "right now", then it is my SKX007K watch on my wrist.

I like this watch a lot. Very easy to live with. Not very expensive.
And lots of people spot it and know what it is.

Trusty SKX007 on the strapcode super oyster. Great aftermarket bracelet, would highly recommend.

I asked the Seiko museum for information and this was the answer:
    "Dear Mr. Xxxx,
It seems to be a #10 line, manufactured from 1931 to 1945.
There are just a few materials we have, we couldn’t find any more.
    Thank you for your inquiry.

I did some research and this watch probably belonged to a Japanese officer captured during the WWII but, obviously, I'm not sure.

I can't get enough of my 7016-8000, a reference I'm deeply glad still seems under the radar in terms of silly price lurches:

Thanks! I’d venture to guess you have the only one. It’s an amazing piece of history.

The old familiar... Worn on a custom single pass-through strap, the short lug to lug distance, the slight feeling of weight from the watch head. The perfect legibility, the beautiful lollipop counterweight on the second's hand, the deep blue with more depth than a watch at this price point should have, offset by the splash of red.

It’s almost the perfect everyday watch. I will always have one small complaint about the SKX which I admit is forgivable at its price point. The bezel metal and finish not matching the case is just something I cannot unsee.
