Max $$$ you're comfortable with on your wrist?

Wondering what forum members consider the max $$$ for a watch they'd feel comfortable wearing on their wrist?

Not the max you can afford, more the max you think you could wear, based on safety and also something you could relax with, without worrying about bumping it etc.

For me around AU$5000 for a daily wear eg work with on, swim in ocean with (if waterproof) etc, and AU$50000 for going out to diner, special events etc.
I luckily live in a very safe environment (rural area in Australia). Many places, if I holiday overseas, I'd not even wear a 5k watch.

So what priced watch would you feel comfortable wearing?

No more than £eleventybillion for sure.

    You can’t be too careful.

Whatever I’d be ok with losing, after two days of crying.

Hell, I worry about bashing my "hundred dollar diver", and I bought it specifically to beat on to save my nicer stuff.

I’m pretty sure the more you can afford, the more you can afford to lose, so for most people you can’t separate these two things. I don’t worry about wearing my most valuable watch at all, but I do worry when wearing my rarest.

I'm not sure I perceive it that way myself, I could take a financial hit higher then the max I'd wear in a watch, I just don't feel its practical to wear more then 5k in a beater or 50k in a good going out watch.

Also with the safety aspect, its not about the $$$ you lose but more the situation you could be put in.

Some people live in different worlds to us. Some of those worlds might even be imaginary.

Here in the D.C. Metro area there are a couple places even a sub $50 Timex would make me uncomfortable. And others where I'd be fine with even a $5000+ watch. It's a judgement call.
    ::censored::like I'll ever own a $5000 watch::censored::

I do sense somewhat of a negative vibe in some of the comments, I do apologise if I am out of place with my posts. Not trying at all to put anyone down in expressing various price points, I thought comfortable discussing it here as the forum has highend watch section discussions and I signed up because I'm getting the new gold speedy and I bet I'm not the only one here doing so.

Forget any negativity from me, I’ve got a great watch currently missing in the USPS and I’m in a grumpy mood.

You're just experiencing some friendly digs @kelsey ;)

Wear what you feel comfortable with - but factor in additional risk based on where you are, and under what circumstances.

Ultimately, don't make yourself a target, by having something that's obviously worth stealing, if you're in a place where such a thing is a risk.

I don't really go in for beaters (I like the concept, but I struggle to buy a watch and then treat it with anything but respect), but have a Nomos Club Campus 38 Nacht (approx £1200 at full retail), which has become my go-anywhere watch.

If you buy a watch you should wear it!
No point Having one and being a safe queen.
Personally I only buy watches that I (can afford) wear and enjoy
    Cheers

I’m more worried about wearing something that is difficult to fix or source parts for than value.
