Seiko 6217-8001 ‘62MAS’ - February 1966

Hi Guys,

I promised to put up a Bell-Matic service up on my blog but I just haven’t had time yet. I did just put up this 62MAS service and repair if anyone is interested. Enjoy! Sorry, I haven’t had time to post the whole thing on OF, but here is the link:

Excellent write-up and photos. For me the 62MAS along with the 6159-7001 are the two stand out iconic vintage Seiko divers. Willard doesn't get a look in.

I agree, and would put the 1967 6215-7000 at the top of that list....

I would say its dated to July 1969

First two numbers in a Seiko serial number are year and month, respectively. Hence, in this case, 9 for 1969 and 7 for July. 😀
