May I ask the members of this forum about opinions about this watch which is currently offered on Ebay: 203061888680 The seller is a reputated dealer and describes it: “The case appears unpolished, but with normal wear and use The dial is in nice condition, with no major damage, but does show some printing loss at the edge of the dial near 1 o'clock. The lume is missing from the hour and minute hands, and the seconds hand appears to be a replacement. Watch is running, but it has not been timed/tested in detail, and a service is recommended at buyer's expense.” My questions are: 1. do you belive this dial to be original? 2. the dial seems to be a non luminious one, the hands are original luminious hands? 4. the outer scale 10 to 60 looks like a center second scale (which of course would not make any sense for a watch with a small second... If it is a minute scale hands are much to short? 3. dial design seems to be from 1930´s to early 40´s, but the watch seems to be early 1950´s? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and opinions! D.
thank you the former discussion is a confirmation of my thougths. Seems that the same watches come up and up again...
P.S. It is funny that the watch is described as "circa 1940s" when the serial number clearly indicates that it is from the 1950s. This is almost an unconscious admission of inconsistency. Hope you are doing well, D..
Interesting to see a reputable reseller is doing this. I often watch his auctions but have never bought from him .
