    Hello Guys,

I've been keeping an eye out for a used Seamaster 2254.50 but on one of my many scans of the Yahoo auction page here in Japan, I stumbled across this little beauty today:

    https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u155141758

As you can see, it's already attracted a high number of bids.

I think it's been serviced (of "overhauled" as they say here).

I was wondering what you think of it, and whether it would be worth taking seriously as a prospective alternative to a later Seamaster model.

I don't know much about the finer details of vintage Seamasters (took a punt on the one I bought earlier this year) and would love to hear some of your thoughts.

    Thanks

You need to a lot of study before you buy one of these. Especially that one!

Thanks very much for the swift feedback fellas. I thought this piece might be a fake once I saw how much the real ones cost!

    :whistling:

Guess I have my homework cut out for me.

In the meantime, it's great to know that there is so much expertise available here!

Also note that model is not a 2254.50. It's a Seamaster 300 165.024 (non date version) or 166.024 (date version.) lots of fakes so you need lots of research.
