Hi! Anyone here who have a copy of the book or other proper literature one UG? There are copies of the book out for sale. Should I get one? I am interested to know if it mentions models marketed under the Berthoud Geneve name in general, and this early waterproof design chronograph in particular: (Not mine, but mine is identical). UG Case Ref 7066: Cal 385. Mine has the following serial: 7066 685374 I am awaiting the watch any time soon following a service. My watch (Sellers pic):
you are likelier to find more information in Pietro Sala's book: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Wat...8004395&sr=8-1&keywords=pietro+sala+universal 100 ans de tradition horlogere is a promotional book put out in conjunction with a single-brand auction. THe only worthwhile part is the auction catalog in the back.
Sala ordered on eBay. Half price of Amazon Looking forward to a looong and rewarding read! Still interested if anyone had something on ref 7066. Cheers!
Those early 4-digit numbers are hard to get a line on. They appear to have been assigned sequentially and carry no meaning the way the later 5-digit case references do. what year is that catalog page from? Have any more like it?
Catalog page kindly provided by another forum member. Based on the serial numbers of the watches I have seen with ref 7066 all falls within 1936-38 in the UG tables.
