Caliber 470, serviced, says it was redialed (not a dealbreaker). I'm thinking that the crystal and case can be hand-polished, toss the bracelet and replace with a nice strap.

Moreover the case is only 14k gold filled, I would pass on it, too expensive

 

Why ask a bunch of collectors for advise, if you disregard their usual criteria and put your own subjective standards higher?

There's a reason that watch has been on eBay for a while.

 

After a brief email exchange with my watchmaker, I did an offer at $450 and it was immediately accepted. We'll see if I wasted my money after it arrives.

Thank you! I had a square Omega before, hand-wind, and I missed having it. I think if I were to have a collection, square watches might be it.

This watch arrived today and it has a lot of potential. I hand-polished the case a little, put a 20-year old Speedmaster Automatic strap on it, and took the best picture I'm capable of.

Crystal needs replacing; it's seriously gouged and it's loose.
Hands need work, whether polishing, replating, or replacing.
Case could use some professional polishing by my watchmaker.

So, here's my horrible photo, and I'm happy with the watch.
