I know Invicta gets a lot of hate from watch collectors in general and much of it justified however the Mechanical Automatic Pro Divers are really good value using a solid reliable Seiko automatic movement and the stainless Straps and cases are as good as it gets plus they truly are water resistant as they claim.

That’s kind of where I was headed. I have a pro diver myself that is quite nice for the price. I was seeing if I could teeter the line between a dressier and a sport/dive watch. I think the pro diver might be the way to go, unless I can find any better options that don’t break the bank.

The question is, do you want your wedding remembered by this kind of a gift? A $100 mechanical watch is not typically a very memorable gift from one adult to another. But there are a lot of things that you could spend $100 on per person that would be very memorable.

Fair point. I was only planning on getting them for my groomsmen who have an interest in mechanical watch or watches in general and are just starting to get into the hobby, so don’t have many themselves and are more hesitant to buy watches for themselves. The groomsmen that don’t care as much, I’ll likely get different gifts for. I’d certainly spend more than that on gifts if I had the means to do so.

Invictas have been described by many as a gateway watch into the whole watch scene though I wouldn't put most of Invicats lineup in that category however the mechanical pro-divers are a good honest reliable watch which generally don't offend the sensible minded.

That’s how I feel about it too. I feel like overall, it’s a pretty sturdy watch. I’m having trouble deciding if it would be dressy enough to wear with a suit, such as during the wedding, or if I should go with something slimmer, which would likely mean going up in price a bit. I was eyeing some of the seiko 5’s on jomashop that are going for around $100, and those are enticing, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra money or not.
